Just A Little Moment In Our Day...

Just A little Moment in our day... that happens everyday... usually more than once. It happens so often that I don't put the punches away. They sit in a tray next to the table with a stack of paper waiting for the little man. I love him to pieces.

A Day Of R&R

I could tell that McKay needed a day off. So, I kept him home from school today. I know that an education is important... But, it isn't everything! (That's usually what I would tell my Mom in high school when I would cut class and go and find her and talk her into taking me to lunch and not making me go back!)  During the winter when he is in school all day and skiing all day Saturday I try to give him a day of R&R once or twice. He doesn't know when they are coming and they are always a surprise. Today the boys voted for a movie day. We went to Blockbuster only to get there an hour before they opened. I wasn't too excited about that because we had all gone in our sweats or pajamas and I didn't quite know what I was going to do for an hour with us all looking like orphans! I decided I didn't care and we went to Red Balloon! Red Balloon is our FAVORITE toy store that has a lot of art supplies and educational supplies that I use for school with Carter. Carter picked out more dot to dot's and they all agreed on a art set. Then we got our favorite slushes at Sonic & stopped by the pool to register Carter for swimming lessons. At that point our hour was up and we got our movies and headed home. They are currently all cuddled up together on the couch watching movies and eating fun dips! I love that we have two large couches... But, when they watch movies they always cuddle up with each other in the middle of one. I didn't realize until half way through the day that McKay doesn't have school on Monday! Lucky boy!

Happy Valentines

Valentine's Monster Box

Friend Gift's

I have a love/hate relationship with Valentines day! I don't like the commercialized Valentines day at all. I don't like stuffed animal's and I have honestly asked my husband to not bring me flowers on the holiday! True! He is thoughtful enough to bring them as surprises throughout the year! He doesn't need a holiday to tell him that he has to do it!

I do love everything that it has to do with children! I love to help my children make their Valentines boxes and help them pick out treats to take to their primary teacher's and teacher's to tell them that we appreciate them. They usually get a pack of coupon's from James and I for activities for our family to do together. How better to show them that you love them than give them your time! And it is always tradition that I make them chocolate dipped strawberries.

When I was little my Mom would make us each our own cherry pie! My Dad would always leave me a box of chocolates and a card. My Grandma Wall would always send me a Valentine with a $2 bill inside. I still had every one of the $2 bills that she had sent me up until the house fire. It's a tradition that she has continued on with her great grand children!

I usually always try to make an extra special dinner with candles and sparkly drinks... But, this year due to me being pregnant and having a major aversion to smells and food... It didn't happen! I was grateful that my Mom had sent the boys gift cards to McDonalds in their Valentines! Yes, we went to McDonalds for Valentines! The kids loved it because I never take them to McDonalds! They get to go once a year when Grandma sends them gift cards in their Valentines! It's always fun to give the children an extra special day!

Cannon's Going To Be A Big Brother!

Since my children announced the news to everyone in primary yesterday and I walk around all day looking like I am going to throw up any second... I guess it's time to finally let the news out! It's been a little hard to hide! It would explain why if anyone stops by my house at any time of day that I am still in my sweats! Why I make frequent trips to the bathroom at church & why I bring food to all of my church meetings! Why I am drinking Sonic's Lemon Berry Slush's for breakfast & why James has to make frequent trips to pick up powdered doughnuts and french fries! It explains why I can't get on Pinterest very often... the sight of all the food literally makes me sick to my stomach. Or why when I order something to eat on date night and it comes I can't even touch it! It also explains why I can't go to Target on State... there are too many restaurants next to it that smell and make me sick the minute I get out of my car! It explains why I fall asleep on the couch every afternoon after I am done teaching Carter school & why I cry at every little thing! It explains why I rock Cannon a little longer each night before he goes to bed... He won't be my baby for long.  It also explains why I couldn't commit to going to Lake Powell or Redfish Lake this summer. The only thing that would keep me from going is if I were having a baby!

With our history it is always a little nerve racking to let the news out! But, there is only so long that you can hide it! We are excited... always a little in shock & nervous... But, Excited! Can't Wait for August to come!

Mustache Valentines!

A couple months ago I ordered mustache chocolate molds for the boys to make for Valentines. I came across this printable that I think will work just perfect! Love it! Looks like we will be playing with chocolate tomorrow! If I start mentally preparing myself for it now it shouldn't be to crazy! Three little boys + melted chocolate = good/crazy times!

Here's a link to the site for the print: Valentine Mustache Printable

Lake Powell

We went to Lake Powell in September and completely fell in love!!! For a girl who loves the sun, beach, water and boating it was heaven! We went with our good friends from St. George the Anderson's & the Shepherd's. We were glad that the Macdonald's came too and that we were able to get to know them better. There were a lot of good memories made. A lot of practical jokes played! A lot of hours spent just relaxing and catching up with good friends.

We didn't tell McKay and Carter where we were going or who we were going with! We packed the car after they went to bed... woke them up early and loaded them up! It was a complete surprise! They guessed the whole way! When they started guessing the right people we had to end the guessing game! They were ecstatic when we walked into Subway in Kanab and the Anderson's were waiting for us!

I did learn on this trip that I am getting older! I can do the wake boarding and knee boarding... I just feel it the next day or days! McKay was really wanting to do a 360 on the knee board. But, was a little nervous and wanted to give up after trying one time. I wouldn't let him. I promised him if he would try again that I would do it! So, he jumped back in and kept trying and trying until he got it! Only to get out of the water and tell me it was my turn! My arms hurt for two days! We were all sitting around breakfast each morning complaining about all of our aches and pains! But, were all right back at it all day long!

We had a wonderful time with wonderful people and can't wait to go back!

Thank you to my parents who came and took Cannon for us for the week! I was a little nervous taking him since he has absolutely no fear of the water! He got to spend a special week with Grandma and Grandpa! And Grandma and Grandpa loved having him to themselves!

McKay's Baptism

Catching up a little!

McKay's Baptism was truly one of the most special day's of our little families lives!

It had been an emotional trial to get pregnant with McKay. Many rounds of unsuccessful fertility treatments. Many, many tears and lots of heart ache. Redfish was always where I went for solace. It has always been my place. I have prayed to the Lord many times on the beach of the lake. As doctor's were telling me that I could't get pregnant He was telling me that I would. And I did. James and I truly have been planning and hoping to baptize McKay at Redfish from the moment we knew he was going to be born in July! We talked about it every year that we went. Walking the beach looking for the perfect spot. When the time came we had to get permission from our Bishop to do it. So, I set the appointment and McKay walked into his office with pictures of the lake and asked if he could be baptized at his "favorite place on earth"! It was truly so sweet!

As almost everyone already knows as the boys and I were up at Redfish our house caught on fire! The day before we were supposed to baptize McKay! James had been getting ready to leave to come and join us when the fire happened. I had heard about it through text messages and didn't know if James was ok. It was a rough morning as I couldn't get people to answer my call's and was just waiting for news... I of course was so emotional when James finally called. At first we didn't know what we should do about McKay's baptism... But, we knew that it was what was most important for our little family and late the night before the baptism James finally made it. It was very emotional for everyone there when he finally made it.

So, it was truly a special day for us as McKay was Baptized and we were able to be gathered as a family on the beach of Redfish Lake!

I was running on auto pilot that day. Still in shock from the day before and quite emotional and trying to be in and enjoy the moment. I wish that I would have taken more pictures... Pictures of McKay with his grandma's, cousins, aunt's and uncle's who came to be with him. It meant so much to me that Carson came and brought Addy and Noah. I wish I had a picture of them.

The Spirit was so strong that morning and it was all that James and I had ever hoped that it would be and more. We are so grateful that the Lord has blessed us with this little man who fills our lives with joy!

Brett made a video of that morning. People who haven't seen it yet have asked for the link: McKay's Baptism. Enjoy! It brings tears to my eyes every time I watch it! Still!
