Idaho

By the time spring break usually hits I am in major need of some warm weather and we head to St. George for the week. That was the plan again this year... But, the closer and closer it got I started to think that we should go to Idaho. I was wondering if I was crazy... Why would you go to Idaho for spring break when you could go to St. George! Well, maybe because we hadn't been since July... And we were in need of spending some time with family. So, I hurried and called everyone and told them we were coming before I could change my mind & knowing that they would all hold me to it! It did snow & it did rain! But, for the most part the weather was pretty good for April in Idaho. But, the time with family was worth it. The boys were spoiled as always with time with their cousins  (Cannon was quick to fall in love with Jason & Amy all over again!), going to the museum to see the dinosaurs, going out to lunch and dinner & going fishing and on adventures with Grandpa. They read lots of books with Grandma, reloaded bullets with Grandpa, & had a late night with Grandpa while Mom & Grandma went to the movie. They of course were able to talk him into all of the things that I had told them no to as I left!  Grandma took them to a new place called iJump & they loved it so much they talked Grandpa into taking them back the next day! They played lots of baseball with Grandma &a Grandpa & Cannon loved finding bugs in the dirt with Grandpa. We were truly able to spend so much time with my brothers & their families, Joe & Wendy & the boys & the Beattie's. James came later in the week for Easter and he cooked ribs for my whole family! 9 racks &
there wasn't a single piece left! We didn't come back tan like we would have from St. George! But, we came back with our hearts full!

When You Need A Cool Mint Oreo...

When You need a Cool Mint Oreo... you need a Cool Mint Oreo! Even if it entails stacking two chairs and climbing on top of the fridge to get them! I almost die of heart failure when I get out of the shower to find this... And then I walk down stairs and find Carter digging into the bag! It's a safety hazard to have Oreo's in our house!

His Spot

This is Carter's spot... This is where he sits while I clean up the kitchen, mop the floor, make meals, do the dishes... If I am in the kitchen area this is where he almost always is keeping me company. I love turning around and finding that he climbed up on the table to watch me. This is usually where and when he tells me what is on his mind and we visit about the things that are going on in his life. Oh how I love this little man!

When You Have 3 Boys...

When You have 3 boys you cut a lot of hair! I even cut James' hair but he wasn't too excited to let me take a picture of him! I tried... But, they were immediately deleted! In all honesty we have come a long way! When I first started cutting McKay's hair it would usually end with both of us in tears! Him because I took so long and me because I  couldn't get it "just perfect"! But, 9 years later and many many haircuts we have got it down pretty quick! James keeps telling me that I should take the money that I save us from paying for haircuts & put it in a jar & we could see how fast it would add up & do something fun with it! It would probably add up pretty quick because I usually cut his hair twice a month and the boys at least once... I really can't stand when I see a little hair over the ears!

Some Days You Have Just Got To Do It!!!

Some days you have just got to do it and this day the temptation was more than McKay could take! Carter was putting a new garbage bag in the can when McKay came around the corner & decided to dump him in the can!!! James and I are constantly telling Carter that one of these days McKay is going to let him have it and he is going to have it coming to him! McKay is seriously so strong. And when they wrestle he takes it so easy on Carter when Carter does not take it easy on McKay! McKay is always so kind to Carter that this is as bad as it gets! Every now and then it just has to happen!

Love Letters

When I was growing up my Grandmother Wall would quite often send me hand written letters. They were treasures and still are as I have them all. My parents make such an effort to do the same with the boys. To the point that Cannon can now recognize their handwriting on an envelope! They often send treasures like coins from other countries, they have quite the coin collection from Grandpa David! Grandma sends treats and special prizes. One day the boys were bickering with each other and not getting along very well. When they brought the mail in and there was a small package from Grandma I told them they couldn't open it because they weren't being kind to each other! They both broke down in tears begging and promising that they would do better! They even offered to do work and to clean the bathrooms and baseboards if they could open the package!!! I didn't give in and made them wait an entire day to open the package! They had to prove that they could treat each other kind and that brothers were more important than the toys and movies they had been fighting over. Not being able to open the package was the worst punishment they could have had!!  I love to see how much they cherish their letters & I keep them safe so that one day they can cherish them as I still cherish mine.
