Magnet Board Makeover!

Earlier in the spring my Mother-in-law bought me this picture at the DI. I know what you are thinking... your Mother-in-law must not like you too much! But, I was seriously sooo excited. I had been looking for a big frame to make a magnet board for the boys room. I was tired of 1. their art pictures getting taped all over their bedroom walls & 2. all of McKay's ski stickers getting put on walls and furniture... So, While James & McKay were at scout camp for a week I loaded up Carter & Cannon and my picture and headed to Idaho to get my Dad's help!
I have always chosen Red's & blues for the boys room... So, I kinda took a risky leap for me and picked a green. But, I am really happy with how it turned out. As you can see I had another helper... who couldn't stop touching the wet paint!
And was enjoying his sugar cereal... because his Mom wont let him have it at home!
I had to laugh when my Dad asked me: "Are you going to paint it up and make it look nice? Or are you going to paint it up, beat the crap out of it & make it look like it went through the Teton Flood"? I like to distress my furniture and it drives him absolutely crazy!!! I once bought a brand new oak entertainment center... only to paint it black and distress it with chains!!! I thought he was going to die of heart failure when I did that one! But, I loved it!
The finished product! All ready for pictures and ski stickers!

Summer Time....

Tyson & Carter
I LoVe this picture! Carter had taken a little face plant on the tramp... & Tyson was making sure he was o.k.!

Seriously one of my favorite places to be... I LoVe my time with Amy on their back porch swing! We grab a few magazines, a pop and sit and visit while the kids play! Lots of good time spent here...

Ha! Ha! I had to put this one in Stacey! I was just so impressed that you tried it!

We have been doing lots of carving this summer... only a few minor injuries!

LoVe this picture of Brett & Cannon! James & I took McKay & Carter to a movie one afternoon and Brett was fabulous enough to come and watch Cannon for us... Being the good Uncle he is he was feeding Cannon Otter Pops when Cannon got a brain freeze! Brett said Cannon wasn't sure what was going on... and just cuddled into him and fell asleep! He had been holding him a sleep for almost an hour when we got home!

McKay's Birthday breakfast at Geraldines with Grandma Wall!
Mr. McKay 7 years old...... & missing his first tooth..... that I swore I would not pull out & had to because there wasn't anyone else around to do it!
If you want to entertain Carter for hours you give him a rope!

Bear Lake

If you have ever been to Bear Lake you know there are a ton of shells in the sand... Carter has the patience to sit and pick them up one by one and fill buckets with them!
Little Man causing a little havoc on Brett & McKay's sand castle...

Cannon has some serious style!
Cohen & McKay waiting for the Logan Fireworks
Carter waiting for the fireworks!
Travis & McKay at the Shilo for the Idaho Falls fireworks

Jason & Amy hooked McKay up this year for his Birthday with the ultimate gift... fireworks!!!
Roasting Marshmallows at Jason & Amy's
Carter is the BEST seriously at roasting Marshmallows@ He is so patient & does them nice & slow!
Easton & Carter at the Menan 4th of July celebration - I serioulsy would love to know what they were talking about!
Menan parade

The boys trying to get a truck driver to blow his horn!
A crazy kid told McKay he was stupid..... & Carter took matters into his own hands!!! The kid saw that Carter meant business and went and found another spot in the parade to gather candy!
Cody & Cannon
Lighting fireworks with Grandpa
Feeding ducks with Addy Beattie. One of the geese had got her fingers & the boys were trying to protect her & she was very content to hide behind them!

We have been so lucky this summer to be able to spend a lot of time with our family. Making wonderful memories!

Hot Chocolate

We just got back from our annual trip to Redfish Lake with the Wall's. James is a total hot chocolate man and has bread it into our children! He loves to have people come to our trailer in the mornings to sit by a fire & enjoy some hot chocolate - and LoVeS to have at least 8 different flavors to offer them! But, it seems as though our homemade hot chocolate is always every one's favorite. So, as promised to several people here is our recipe!

1 25 oz. box powdered milk
1 21 oz. can Nesquik
2 cups powdered sugar
1 bottle powdered creamer

Now the great thing about the creamer is that it comes in different flavors! So, you can have just about every flavor you want! Now, you can see how James comes up with his supply! Our two favorite flavors are Hazelnut & Vanilla. The Vanilla ends up tasting more like white chocolate. The recipe makes quite a bit! I hope you enjoy this as much as we do! Thank you to my friend Sheri Brasier who gave us this recipe a couple years go! We love it!
